I got these primarily for Working from Home, hoping the microphones would work better for meetings, etc. They do work pretty well for that use case. I have not had any issues with the multipoint functionality (phone + PC connected simultaneously). There appears to be some sound leakage though, as my family tells me they can sometimes hear the other end of calls, which may be a deal-breaker long-term. They also cause a bit of discomfort after many hours of continuous use though, which is mainly why I didn’t give these five stars. That being said – the sound from these over Bluetooth is very good. What listening I’ve done of music has been very pleasant. I don’t hear any sibilance or obvious voids in music. Bass is full, but not over-emphasized. Tiny musical details are heard, both in quiet and loud passages. That’s making me go back and listen to music I haven’t heard in a long time, just for fun. I don’t hear any distortion or hiss. I’m using AptX codec with my Android phone with fairly high sampled MP3s, but my phone doesn’t have support for high-bitrate or low-latency Aptx flavors. The Dirac audio expansion adds a nice lift to the sound most of the time. Not sure it’s as wide a sound stage as I was expecting from it though. The sound stage never really feels like it’s “outside of my head” with or without Dirac enabled. But sound with Dirac enabled is still natural and pleasant. I’ve been leaving it turned on, just for fun.Plugging in to the analog input also sounds very good, but obviously no longer supports EQ or Dirac features from the Cleer App. Analog audio still works great with the headphones powered off though, which is cool.Voice prompts can be a little loud at times. I wish there was a setting to adjust the levels for those. The build quality and finish are very good, and so far the gesture based controls have not been too tricky to get used to. The precise swipe position for pausing playback or answering a call is something that takes some practice to get used to though. My point of comparison reference for audio quality is a pair of Jabra headphones. These Cleer headphones do sound a bit better than those, but not sure yet if the differences were big enough to be worth the cost of purchasing these or not (and I got these Cleer phones on sale). The Jabra headset is lighter and causes less discomfort after long usage, so they may end up being my go-to for work after all. But I’m still liking these Cleer headphones overall.Edit 03/31/2023 – I still like and use these Cleer headphones, but just thought I would add that I occasionally hear interference on Bluetooth sound from either phone or PC when I’m holding and using my phone. Not sure if the phone’s wi-fi is causing interference or what, but it’s an occasional annoyance. I have also had had occasional reports that I suddenly sound “like a robot” in meetings – possibly another indicator of signal interference or something.

I’m a university professor in need of a solid set of headphones for distraction-free video conferencing, recording lectures and demonstrations, and listening to music. And I’m not an audiophile. I had been an ear bud user until I got my first set of headphones a few years ago – the Sennheiser PXC 550. These were a great all-around set (light and comfortable, excellent sound, great mic, and solid battery life) for multiple years, but I could not get or stay connected to my PC very consistently (way too frustrating!). I tried the Bose QC45 for a short time recently. They were light, super comfortable (plenty of room for my large head and ears, no cabin pressure, not too hot), and they sounded great. The downside – they did not play music and/or stay connected consistently to my Galaxy S22 Ultra and they were expensive ($280 Amazon sale). Enter the Cleer ALPHA. I read some great Amazon reviews on Cleer products, although relatively few of them, and decided to give them a shot. Purchased for $170 from the Cleer website ($200 minus 15% exclusive pop-up offer). I’ve been using them a lot for a few weeks now and love them. Why? They connect seamlessly to my Galaxy and [perhaps more importantly] to my Surface Laptop Studio (Win 11), and they stay connected. They have great audio for video conferencing (Zoom and Teams meetings mainly) – I hear others and they hear me…loud and clear. The mics work extremely well for recording my lectures/demos in Camtasia; they may be too good because they pick up my key strokes and mouse clicks. The battery life is maybe a few hours less than advertised, but still more than reasonable. The Dirac Virtuo really does spatially enhance the music listening experience, but I believe the Cleer+ app EQ allows plenty of adjustments. The standard bass, mids, and highs are all super clear, balanced, and robust…IMHO better than the slightly flatter sounding QC45 and about on par with the PXC 550. The noise cancelling works as well or better than all I’ve tried (Bose QC45, Sennheiser PXC 550, Sony 1000XM4, Technics EAH-A800, Soundcore Q35), as does the ambient mode (which has 10 levels of “effectiveness”). The auto play/pause wear detection and the touch controls on the right ear cup are nice features that work well, but I personally wouldn’t miss them if they were absent. My only [minor] negatives on the ALPHA headphones – they are noticeably heavier than almost all I’ve tried, the ear cups are not quite big enough for my larger ears that stick out a bit more than some, and the touch controls sometimes don’t work as expected (trying to adjust the volume sometimes pauses music, but it probably just takes time/practice to get it down). It takes several seconds to find the best fit and seal over my ears. Once fitted, they do cause a little fatigue after an hour or so, but I’m OK with taking them off for a breather now and then. Maybe Cleer will make a thicker/deeper ear cup pad for us larger-eared folks!? The numerous positives about these headphones help make the less-than-perfect fit around my ears quite tolerable. If you have similar needs or desires to mine, you should seriously consider buying the Cleer ALPHAs…they’re absolutely worth it. I have no regrets!

Returning. Max volume is casual listening level for me. Also, kind of weird but there’s an audible rumble, not a bass rumble which these have a good amount of, but in the track I hear a sound as if I’m in my car with the speakers loud and the car is shaking from the bass. Very distracting in techno.Heard the Enduro’s had a volume level problem but I guess these do too. Noticeable lip sync lag. No thanks. Going to try XM4s, they’re supposed to have better noise cancellation anyway.smh

i love these headphones! I have sensory issues and have been looking for a pair to help with noise cancellation so that i don’t get overwhelmed and these do the trick! As soon as you put them on it’s immediately quieter and that improves even more once you turn on the actual noise cancelling. I also have a bit of a different head shape so a majority of headphones i’ve used i’ve either gotten headaches from or they have pushed on my jaw too much (but not these bad boys!). I’ve tried Bose 45, Sony WCH 1700 (or something like that), and skullcandy hush, and i can easily say these trump them all. The noise cancellation is comparable to Bose 45 and are very similar in my opinion, but this one is about $100 cheaper so i’d go with these any day! Also the music is super clear which is an added plus, i would definitely recommend these!

First, as far as sound, in my opinion these sound better than the Sennheiser Momentum 4’s, which have been my favorite. They use Dirac Virtuo Spatial Audio which has no reverb sound and In my opinion is heads and shoulders above Dolby Spatial Audio. However, I returned these because they are too tight and uncomfortable to wear more than 15 minutes at a time.

The headphone quality itself is pretty solid, but I can’t wear them for more than an hour without getting pain on the bone behind my ear, they hurt REAL bad.Which is an absolute shame because I want to like the headphones so much, but they cause me physical pain to use.
