SCENE Water Resistant Bluetooth Speaker

Ok, I had never heard of this company, but now they’re definitely on my radar! First of all, the packaging was beautiful, it was like I was opening a high-end Sony or Samsung product with Google/Apple inspired packaging.The speaker itself is heavy, far heavier than I expected, which lends to its premium build quality feel. This unit is certainly a direct competitor to Beats Pills and JBL speakers, but I also believe it can go toe to toe with any comparable Bose offering.Pairing is fast and easy, auditory cues are pleasant, controls and basic and straightforward, but the sound quality… the sound quality is incredible. Bass is present and full, more so than expected from a unit this size. The volume goes LOUD and has shockingly little distortion when it’s cranked up. In fact, I had it on at about 3/4 volume in the master bathroom, but could still hear it clearly all the way in the kitchen!After being fully blown away by this speaker, I looked up the company to see their other offerings and now I desperately want their massive, $700 smart speaker! I’m going to be keeping an eye on these Cleer guys, they’re really doing some cool stuff!

Sounded really good and worked well until the auxiliary jack just broke for no reason and thats how i used this speaker.

This review is for the “Cleer Audio Scene Smart Bluetooth Speaker”SOUND:The sound is crisp and clear. You can hear the instruments clearly. Guitar music (acoustic and electric) sounds great. I listened to different kinds of music, and they all sounded good.There is a passive bass radiator on each end that gives it a decent bass.AT FULL VOLUME:Minimal distortion at loudest volume. At full volume with rock music I got about 98 decibels right next to it, and about 82 six feet away.SPOKEN WORD:Audiobooks are crisp and clear and easy to understand with no cutting out, popping, etc. (as I have had with some speakers).BUTTONS:The buttons are large, but the image is the same color as the button, so while it is aesthetically pleasing, they are not as easy to read as if they were a different color.Most of the buttons are on top, but the power button and Bluetooth indicator are on the back. They light up a different color, so are easier to see.WATERPROOF:They state that this is IPX-7 Waterproof, and it seems as though it would be. The charging port is covered well with a rubber or silicone type of flap that fits very tightly.POWER:It charges with a USB-C port and charger (which all devices should have by now, but not all do).OTHER:It has a non-slip base (that feels like rubber). The sides and front are covered with a mesh fabric that feels nice to hold, and at a stripe of metal around the front/bottom and metal each end around the bass radiators.OVERALL:A pretty good speaker. It sounds better than a lot of single speakers (which is good because they do not state that you can connect a second one for wireless speaker). I am happy to have this in my home.They come in different colors. I got the red, which is a fairly dark red with a little bit brighter red in the metal trim.
