Cleer ARCs are the only earbuds that don’t hurt my ears to wear. The sound quality is great and they don’t completely shut out ambient noise.

Hi Brett, thank you for the terrific rating and we’re extremely happy that you’re liking your ARC’s. Sometimes, listening and keeping your situational awareness about you makes for an enjoyable experience and we’re happy that you like them. Thanks!

I have tested four open ear headsets. Sony, did not stay in, returned. Shokz open run, very good sound, head band does not work well with winter jackets. Kept them anyway. Oladance, super comfortable to wear all day. Sound is about average. They have so far been my favorite. So Cleer, PRO:Of the four I’ve tried, I can’t even count the Sony, so 3 I tried out, these definitely have the best sound quality. They are almost as easy to put on as Oladance, and just as comfortable. Comes with attractive case. It is not a battery case it is just a charging case. But it’s very slim and the cable is attached and wraps up neatly inside the case.CON:Shorter battery life compared to Oladance all day performanceThe first time I plugged in the case and set these up to charge they did not charge . I had to zip the case closed to make sure they actually were coming in contact with the charging points . (By the way it comes with a plastic liner which you have to remove from underneath each earpiece.) These were not as easy to pair with my phone. It’s a two-step process and the first time I took them out after setting them up they did not automatically pair with my phone which both of my other two keepers do. Second day they did pair right away without having to fuss with them. The downside is if you’re not actively listening to something, or on the phone, they shut off after 15 minutes. So I can’t plan on wearing these all day just for the convenience of having my hands-free in case someone calls.I haven’t yet decided if the pro outweighs the con enough to keep these. Or if there’s some setting I can use to make them stay on all day. There is an app for your phone which you will need to download in order for these to pair. I suspect for the sound quality alone I’m probably going to keep these. But they will not be my go-to on days where my hands are busy and I can’t don’t have time to keep fussing with what’s going on with my earpiece.

I have purchased various brands of headphones. I have apple airpod pros, apple air pods, Bose, Jabra, OpenShoks. These are the headphones that I reach for most frequently. I understand that not everyone enjoys having a headphone collection, so I’d recommend these if I had to choose one pair.Function and Quality: These headphones provide quality sound. Because they are not in the ear canal, you aren’t getting that type of in ear sensation, but rather outside of the ear canal. I am a speech pathologist and hearing specialist so take my word, for it that these can truly save your hearing over the years if used at a reasonable amplitude. In terms of sound quality, I am clearing hearing highs, lows and mids with a solid amount of base. You can’t compare these to Bose because these aren’t in ear and fully covered so you are hearing ambient noise, which is the point of these open ear type of headphones. I’m very happy with the sound quality. I value good sound as I am the proud owner of Sonos speakers in my home, so I know good sound quality from poor sound quality. You won’t be disappointed.Price: At a $130 Price point, this is what I’d expect to pay for the quality. The inventors seem to be a small business in CA, who really value producing good quality products. With a one year warranty, rather than justo he 30 days return window with Amazon gives me some peace of mind.Comfort: These headphones are comfortable. It took maybe half a day to get used to, but once I got used to them, they felt very natural.Phone Calls: Having a small business, I am constantly on the phone, or on hold. Call quality is great. People report that I sound clear. I can hear all my conversations clearly. Call quality is solid. No issues here!In summary, these headphones provide good sound, expected price point for quality, good customer service, decent warranty. They have easily connected to my iPhone, Pixel 6 and IPad Pro. If you are seeking an open ear experience for exercising, needing to hear your kids, or any other reason you’d need to hear the ambient environment, I’d recommend these.
