ARC 3 GAMING Open Ear Gaming Earbuds

I have owned many headsets for my PlayStation’s over the years. Some have been full on headsets, some have been Bluetooth mics and others have been a wired earbuds. I decided to try the Cleer arc3 buds since they checked all the features I would be looking for in a set of ear buds.Disclaimer: This review is based off of my usage on the PS5. I have other earphones for other devices so no, I did not use them with a computer, Xbox or cellphone!Connecting the the earbuds couldn’t be easier with the PS5. You simply plug in the dongle and the PlayStation recognizes the buds. There is a switch on the dongle that lets you select between PS5/Cellphone or PC. I made the initial mistake of having it set to PC, so I was not experiencing full connectivity to my console. Once I leaped over that hurdle, it was now time to get familiar with the controls. I may be old school, but I personally like physical buttons. Unfortunately for me all controls are based off of touch. A tap on the right bud turns the volume up and a long hold will turn it down. Tapping the left bud will let you go through 3 types of noise cancelling (really it’s only two). The initial mode will allow for you to hear background noise, next level will cut the background slightly. The final noise cancelling mode blocks out a lot of background noise. Especially once gameplay, music or a movie commences. It won’t completely block out all noise, but there will be less distractions while playing (especially if your wife wants you to help with dishes🙃). Lastly you can long press the left bud to turn off or on your mic. The light on the Ps5 controller will light orange to say the mic is muted.Now for gameplay with the arc3, how do they sound? Freaking Awesome😂! Currently I am playing God of War Ragnarok and the sound is next level. As my character turns his back I can still hear conversations behind me. I watched a dream sequence scene and multiple characters were surrounding me and the sound amplified the experience. The dialogue, music and sfx are crisp, clear and exciting. We tried some 3D sound tests on YouTube and that was enjoyable. ✅WHAT I LIKE: ▪️Setup to my PS5 was easy. I don’t even think you can call it setup, since it was plug and play. ▪️The carrying case also acts as a charger! ▪️Sony boasts 12 hour battery life plus an additional 12 hours with the case to charge. Fortunately I have not exceeded the 24 hours straight time of gaming to see if these stats are correct. I have yet to experience any type of battery issues while playing. ▪️These fit great in your ears, and if the default ear pieces don’t work for you. Sony provides multiple variations for different types of ears. ▪️Can’t forget how great these look, sleek black. ❌WHAT I DON’T LIKE: ▪️I am disappointed that you don’t get any customization with the console. Apparently with PC you can play with an equalizer and save favourites. Unfortunately not the case with the PS5. ▪️I wish there was some sort of in ear cue, talking to you instead of playing sounds. For instance mic on/off, a women’s voice tells you the current setting. Toggling through the noise cancelling, it’s different sounding musical chimes, letting you know you have changed settings. Even an onscreen display showing you your noise cancelling mode would be nice. I know they can do it, since they can show you your volume control on screen! 🦋OVERALL:I am throughly impressed with these earbuds. It’s nice not having my entire ear covered with headphones causing my ears to sweat or overheat. The arc3 stay in my ears and I have yet to experience discomfort while wearing them. The sound is exceptional and these are currently my best game sounding earbuds. What’s even more impressive is the fact that the arc3 have the same drivers as the Sony WF-1000XM5’s! Don’t take my word for it, try them out for yourself. You won’t regret it!

Don’t take my word for it…read all the reviews, these are the best wireless earbuds you can buy for PlayStation 5. Only downside is the microphone, the gain is way too high. In other words… if you talk too loud, it crackles.People that I game with have told me it’s unbearable. In PS5 audio settings, I have the mic volume set to zero and it still crackles. Only solution for me was to talk quietly.I wish that the configuration via PC would carry over to PS5, but it doesn’t seem to sadly.
