I have used the original Arc’s since they were released. My commute is a 2 mile hike back and forth to my office and the Arc’s have been my companion through rain, snow, and heat and never failed. So when the ARC II SPORT’s were introduced I just got them as soon as I could. They are the old ARC’s but with so much more and for some reason a more solid feel. Especially the case is smaller, more robust and looks great. There are also new features and I love them all, especially the wind noise reduction feature, it works wonders when you are about and about.
I do not think there any other open air buds available with this feature set, audio quality and general usability. Only one problem, I forget I have them on and have been very close do something that would drown or damage the earbuds simply because I do not know I have them on. They are extremely comfortable to wear!

I just received my ARC II Sports…..I wear ‘phones every day as I walk my dog 3.5 miles. I normally wear Apples’ AirPod Max. Love these open ear headphones but was looking for something I could wear while Mt Biking. I have used Shokz while riding but because of their design, they sound flat with very little dynamics because the drivers are so far away from the ear canals. The ARC II’s seem to have their drivers designed to work as they have been built for the geometry of the Earbuds! Great separation and imaging while creating a very inviting sound signature! I like how they feel when wearing them as they do not have to give an electronic version of of ambient sounds you actually can hear what’s going on around you. These are my first impressions from my first hour of wear…I expect them to “break in” and smooth out a taste….While they really cannot compete with the Apples full size headphones, they do very well indeed considering their design…blown away by their clarity, both high freq. and low!!! Looking forward to my mt. bike ride tomorrow using these beauties!

Hi magoo63, thank you for the awesome review and rating.

4.5 stars; I really like these!
The good: Open ear listening is more natural, eliminating annoying ear protrusions. Assuming you are here because sound quality is important to you, these deliver. Peak volume is very strong, necessary when background noise spikes. Battery life is amazing! The case is nice and slides into pockets easily. They came charged and in pairing mode so I could use them immediately while learning about all of the features. The app is pretty good, has the manual included, and allows some customization. Preset classical works best for my ears, and reprogramming single tap to play/pause to double tap helps eliminate unintended actions from incidental contact. They stay firmly in place and can be used for any activity I can imagine I might ever want to wear them for. Feather light. Excellent for phone calls and virtual meetings. Connecting to two devices at a time, and switching between works well. If I get a call while they are in the case, as soon as one is placed on my ear the call is connected, without delay to power up and connect. This is great and I have not missed a single call so far. Head motion control has worked on my first couple of attempts. No problem with my metal frame eyeglasses. Heavier frame sunglasses are ok, but thick frames would have to be tested for compatibility. Cleer is a U.S. company.
I needed a break in period of about a week to get comfortable. Hard to say why. They are light and feel great when put on, but I found irritations and fiddled with them a lot. This has improved and I think will not be an issue long term. That said there is some room for ergonomic improvement. Being able to manage paired and connected devices from the app might be helpful.
Reservations: Tapping functions are not 100% reliable. I would prefer old school physical buttons. Often they work very well, but too often an attempt to adjust volume triggers the virtual assistant, or powers off the buds. Powering off during a call is a problem. Maybe firmware updates can improve performance, and maybe my touch will improve with practice, but tap control prevents a 5 star rating. A minor quibble is the case has a finger pull on the top half but not the bottom, so I find it tricky to grip the base.
I am replacing the discontinued Bose Open Sport after losing a bud, and did a lot of comparison shopping. On balance I made the right call and recommend these over the other, some pretty good, options I evaluated.

Hey Skatedad, thank you very much for the great and detailed review. I understand your reservations with the tapping function but hopefully, now that you’ve had time to get used to them, that you’re able to operate them without issue. Sometimes, it just takes a little getting used to them but I find that holding the outer edge of the paddle helps me. Thanks again!

They sound incredible. And even better than that, I can listen to a backing track through my Cleer Arc II sport headphones and here all the nuances while playing my acoustic guitar. Its incredible! Playing soft, doesnt matter, you can hear your guitar and still hear the backing track.
Sure, I listen to music with these. They sound great. But the fact that you can use these and still hear around you, makes all the difference. I don’t feel isolated like when I use earbuds or over the ear headphones.
I’ve tried many. I mean many. As a musician, high end headphones like beyerdynamic DT 990 Pro 250 ohm Over-Ear Studio Headphones, Bose earbuds, Sony earbuds and many others. Cleer are simply great. My main studio monitors are Yamaha HS80Ms, so I know what a recording is suppose to sound like. Cleer isnt coloring sound. Amazing bass but not over powering. Cleer are clear!
This is my second pair of Cleer. My wife bought me a pair and I use the Cleer ARC (original version) and I love them too. Bought this pair to use with my phone while I use the others with my pc.
If you need assistance, the Cleer support team makes you feel like you are their only customer. I purchased directly from them but didn’t see a review option on their site. So here I am. Trying to say thank you for making a great product and being there when I have questions.
